Group renting Airbnb house for a party in Paris discover body in the backyard

The body of a woman has been discovered in the back garden of a house in Paris, by a group who had rented the home on Airbnb for a party.

A group of friends, who had rented the house in Palaiseau 16km south of the city for a weekend party, found the body curled up and face down in the back of the garden on Saturday afternoon, the Telegraph reported.

The body was in a shallow grave and covered in branches, police said.

She was clothed, but had no shoes on.

Police are treating the woman’s death as a murder.

“All the signs suggest that this was a criminal act,” the nearby prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

The woman was not carrying any ID and police are still trying to identify her.

“The state of the body, which was in an advanced stage of decomposition, did not enable investigators to determine the cause of death,” a judicial source said.

A post mortem will be carried out.

The group of friends who rented the property were questioned by police.
