There is a time and place to safely cross the road and taking on a blind corner in the middle of a motor race is not one of them.

Breathtaking footage shows four people narrowly averting almost certain death as they dash across an unidentified track moments before a race car swoops around the corner at high speed.

One-by-one the group begin to make the dangerous crossing at the apex of a left-hand corner, and with their line of sight completely blocked by stands of trees that border the track.

In the distance, the high-pitched scream of a race car grows louder, and the foursome begin to pick up the pace as an onlooker, bracing for a potential collision, can be heard exclaiming “Oh my God.”

Three of the pedestrians safely clear the road just as a white car suddenly appears at the corner. But the fourth, who appears to be a woman, is left prone in the middle of the track and has to sprint clear as the vehicle swings wide and roars by.

As the camera tracks the car speeding off into the distance it’s clear to see just how lucky – and foolish – the four people had been.
