Sob-fest as woman surprised with restored childhood teddy bear

When Vas Alli was thinking of what to get his fiancée for Christmas last year, he only had one rule – it had to be better than last year's proposal.

So, he decided to give his wife-to-be a teddy bear.

But this wasn't just any teddy bear.

Mr Alli knew how much his fiancée Jess loved her childhood teddy, Whitey, which was given to her as a gift during her mother's baby shower for Jess.

But as time wore on, the bear began to fray and soon Whitey ended up headless, earless and nose less and missing most of his stuffing.

So, after a month of research and "looking through over 10,000 vintage teddy bears on online" Mr Alli was able to find enough replica parts to completely restore Whitey.

Not wanting to spoil the surprise, Mr Alli wrapped Whitey in a giant box giving the impression that his fiancee's gift was more along the lines of a "Louis [Vuitton] bag".
