German couple leave inheritance on flight

A couple who left more than $200k in inheritance on a plane have been reunited with the money thanks to an honest cleaner.

The husband who were flying from Chicago to Munich with his wife accidentally left USD$166,000 in American cashier's checks he had just received from his deceased mother's estate in one of the aircraft's overhead compartments, Travel and Leisure reports.

A cleaners spotted the bag and handed it to airline staff who notified German authorities.

The couple had just arrived home when police informed them they had left something valuable on the flight.

The distraught husband drove two hours back to the airport where he was reunited with his money.
