Fox under fire for 'boobs on ground' comment

US network Fox News is under fire after a commentator referred to a female fighter pilot who led UAE's air strikes against ISIL as “boobs on the ground”.

Panellist Eric Bolling made the ill-advised pun after a news report on Mariam Al Mansouri, who is the UAE’s first female fighter pilot.

The "boobs on the ground" pun was preceded by another sexist joke from presenter Greg Gutfield who quipped: "The problem is, after she bombed it she couldn't park it."

Co-host Kimberly Guilfoyle was visibly dismayed by the direction the discussion had taken.

Guilfoyle had just presented the news report on the pilot as was full of praise for the pioneering woman.

"This is really incredible. Major Mariam Al Mansouri is who did this. Remarkable, very excited. I wish it was an American pilot. I'll take a woman doing this any day to them," she said before the males on set chimed in with their jokes.

"Do you really have to ruin my moment," Guilfoyle said in response, shaking her head.
