Former BBC Radio host convicted of indecent assault

Veteran British radio DJ Dave Lee Travis has been described as an "opportunist" who felt he had the right to grope young women after he was convicted of indecent assault.
The former host of TV music show Top of the Pops and BBC Radio DJ, whose real name is David Griffin, was cleared on two other assault charges, The Associated Press reported.
The 69-year-old was arrested in November 2012 as part of a police investigation into past abuse after revelations that the late BBC entertainer Jimmy Savile was a serial sexual predator who abused hundreds of young people.
He was found not guilty of indecently assaulting a woman while he was appearing in a production of Aladdin in 1990.
He was cleared of a further charge of sexually assaulting a journalist after the jury failed to reach a verdict.
The allegations in the Dave Lee Travis case date back to the 1990s and related to women who alleged they were assaulted while working with him.
He has denied the claims, saying the women lied.
Travis will be sentenced later this week and faces up to ten years in prison.
