Gas cylinder explosion injures firefighter in Russia

Terrifying video has emerged of firefighters in Russia attempting to put out a car fire when a gas cylinder in the boot exploded.

A group of children filmed the October 22 incident mere metres from the source of the blast in Stavropol in the country's west.

They inch closer as two emergency workers inspect the flaming wreck, dousing it with water.

Several minutes pass and the fire continues to burn.

Suddenly, the gas cylinder ignites and the flames mushroom, consuming the crew standing nearby.

According to local news site rusdtp.ru, one firefighter sustained burns to his face and hands in the explosion and is recovering in hospital.
