Five dead in Las Vegas shooting

At least five people are dead after a man and a woman opened fire in an apparent ambush at a pizza store in Las Vegas.

Witnesses said two police officers were shot as they ate lunch at the CiCi’s Pizza store and their attackers then stripped the bodies of weapons before running into a Walmart, the Las Vegas Review Journal reports.

It is understood the two shooters then shot and killed at least one civilian before killing themselves.

One of the officers died at the scene while the other died later in surgery. 

Witnesses told police one of the shooters yelled "this is the start of a revolution" before shooting the officers. 

Assistant Sheriff Kevin McMahill said at a news conference the male shooter, described as a tall white man, yelled "everyone get out" before opening fire. 

McMahill said he believed there "was some kind of suicide pact".
