Fire truck drifts across intersection in viral video

Footage of a fire truck seemingly defying the laws of physics to drift in a straight line through an intersection is the latest video to enthral the internet.

The video, which has racked up more than 500,000 views since it was uploaded two days ago, shows the US fire truck racing through the streets

before performing the impressive move.

Despite making only a minor turn, the speeding truck breaks into a skid with its trailer getting sideways before snapping back in line.

Online commentators have been quick to point out the manoeuvre was made possible by another firefighter steering the back of the fire engine.

The firefighter who steers the rear axle is known as a tillerman.
