Fearless baby penguin makes a friend and a bed out of a man

An American photography enthusiast visiting Antarctica had the enviable problem of literally not being able to keep the chicks off him.

Californian Joel Olsen recently headed to the polar continent on a tour when a penguin chick jumped all over him in an up close and personal video

The 41-year-old was on the ground taking some snaps and video when the plucky and fearless penguin jumped up onto Mr Olsen's stomach and chest.

He said the "parents of the baby penguins were standoffish, but the baby penguins weren't afraid at all.

"Our guide said we shouldn't approach the penguins, but if they came to us, it was okay.

Within minutes Mr Olsen said he was surrounded by baby penguins with one curious chick pecking at his head and another nestling up right on his chest.

"It was an incredible experience."
