Elephant throws branch at frightened tourists

An agitated bull elephant has taken its rage out on a group of tourists by hurling a branch at their jeep.

Video taken on February 14 in South Africa's Sungulwane Hills Game Lodge shows a young bull charge alongside the tourists as they sit and film the encounter.

The pachyderm appears agitated as guides bang on the side of the jeep and whistle to try and get its attention.

The animal uses its trunk to snap a small tree in half with ease causing one of the guests to flinch in shock.

As the elephant circles the vehicle it spots another branch concealed in the thick brush and grasp hold of it.

With branch in tow the adolescent animal charges before throwing the object at the jeep.
