Driver accidentally crashes into rare $1.8m supercar

An overly-excited driver has crashed into the back of a $1.8 million Pagani Zonda super car after trying to take a photo with his phone.

Video of the crash posted yesterday to Instagram shows a rare Zonda driving past a group of pedestrians near the Punta del Este resort in Uruguay.

The driver of a van travelling behind tried to steer with one hand while holding his camera out the window to try and get a better shot.

Just as the van driver lost focus on the road, the Pagani Zonda braked hard causing the larger vehicle to slam into it.

Despite the severity of the crash, the damage to the expensive car did not appear to be too bad.

The Pagani Zonda was first put into production in 1999. Only 10000 vehicles are produced each year.
