Welsh diner blinded by angry chef's chilli attack

A man from Wales says he was left blinded by chilli powder thrown at him by an aggravated chef.

CCTV images show David Evans complaining about his meal during a night out at an Indian restaurant at Tonypandy in South Wales when the red spice is thrown at his face, reports WalesOnline.

Evans and his wife Michelle were dining at the Prince of Bengal restaurant on Saturday night when they were asked if they were enjoying their curry by a waiter.

They told him it was "tough and rubbery" and the comments were passed to the head chef.

Footage shows David Evans taking his complaint in person to the door of the kitchen where he was met by head chef  Kamrul Islam.

A brief discussion takes place just seconds before a cloud of red chilli engulfs the diner's face.

Michelle Evans said: "The chef came to the door with a large bowl of chilli powder which he threw at David’s face."

"It was horrific. He said he’s never had so much pain in his life and was extremely distressed," she added.

She said her husband was taken to hospital for treatment.
