Dad shoots daughter dead, blames it on other daughter

A US dad has admitted to shooting dead his daughter after first trying to pin her death on another of his young children.
Maurice Phillips, 30, was "carelessly and recklessly" waving a pistol around while his six children watched television in their living room when the gun went off, hitting four-year-old Tahirah in the head, Washington Post reports.
He called his fiancé, changed clothes, then fled the scene.
Phillips turned himself in to Philadelphia police on Sunday night, a day after the shooting.
He first told police Tahirah had been shot by her five-year-old sister.
"He struck his 5-year-old daughter with a closed fist then wiped the blood from his hand onto her shirt … to show how much he felt that she did this," police spokesman James Clark said.
Phillips later admitted he had shot Tahirah.
He has been charged with third-degree murder and endangering the welfare of a child, among other charges.
