Crowd erupts as stadium goes dark during soccer game in Venezuela

A World Cup qualifying soccer match between Brazil and Venezuela was delayed after the lights suddenly turned off, plunging the stadium into darkness.
The game was at the 73 minute mark when the flood lights at the Merida Metropolitan Stadium went out, Reuters reported.
The crowd, appearing to enjoy the excitement, erupted into cheers after the lights went out.

The game continued when the lights came back on 20 minutes later, with Brazil going on to win the qualifying match 2-0.
There is no word on what caused the lighting failure, but torrential rain in recent days could be to blame.
