Crimean snowstorm creates on-road chaos

The people in this part of Crimea should be used to harsh winter weather, which makes you wonder about this pile of unlucky drivers' apparent ineptitude at driving in the snow.

Dashcam video shows a number of neighbours driving their cars into each other like chaotic curling stones after they all lost control on the icy road.

After a dumping of ice and snow in the region on February 11, the locals were caught completely unprepared for the harsh conditions outside.

Decked in coats, beanies and scarfs, the Crimeans defiantly hopped behind the wheel to brave the white world.

But with summer tires on and no chains to speak of the cars slip away with tyres spinning uselessly from a lack of traction.

Emergency workers and the drivers stand around, trying to arrange a tow when out of nowhere, a four-wheel drive succumbs to the same fate, making a metallic scrum as it hits the other vehicles.

As the new drivers join the unlucky travellers on the roadside, another driver loses their grip on the road drifts right into the cluster like billiard ball.

No drivers appear injured by the pile-up.
