Comedian Bill Cosby has joked about the rape allegations levelled against him during a stand-up show in Canada.

Cosby was performing in London, Ontario on Thursday night when a female audience member got up to get a drink.

"You have to be careful about drinking around me," Cosby said, after asking the woman where she was going.

The audience gasped loudly and then applauded, the National Post reports.

The crowd gave Cosby a standing ovation at the end of the show.

Not everyone thought the crack was funny though.

A heckler was arrested after interrupting the show to yell, "We don’t love you, Bill!"

"You’re a rapist," the paper reported the man saying. "I’m being ejected because you're a rapist!"

The heckler was reportedly booed by a section of the 1500-strong audience.

The man was questioned by six police in the lobby and then released.

About 150 protesters had also gathered outside the venue in the snow, distributing leaflets with alleged victims' names and what happened to them.

They yelled at fans going in and tried to block people from entering.

24 woman have now alleged that Cosby sexually assaulted them, dating back to the 1960s.

The 77-year-old is accused of drugging many of the woman before raping them, with one of the accusers being former supermodel and reality television star Janice Dickinson.

Cosby has denied the allegations.
