COVID-19 restriction breachers publicly shamed in streets of China
Breachers of COVID-19 restrictions in China have been captured on film being publicly shamed along the streets of Jingxi city in Guangxi province.
Armed riot police have been seen in the southern China region parading alleged violators of the nation's tough rules through the streets, despite the practice being banned since 2010.
Decades of protests by human rights activists brought the ritual to a stop over a decade ago, however, it's been reported to have resurfaced of late as local governments grapple with China's zero-COVID policy.

The footage appears to depict a number of masked individuals in hazmat suits — carrying placards displaying their photos and names — walking down along a road in front of a large crowd.

According to Chinese media, the group are accused of transporting illegal migrants while the nation's borders remain effectively closed due to the pandemic.
The move has sparked fierce backlash online, who have condemned the government's extreme disciplinary approach.
