Colombian teacher arrested allegedly trying to have sex with student

A Colombian teacher has been arrested by police in his underpants after allegedly trying to have sex with a student.

Gilberto Gonzalez Arias, 65, is accused of giving his students poor grades and then asking them to sleep with him so they can pass their subjects, news website Seguimiento.co reports.

A student who was co-operating with police led officers to the high school maths teacher’s house in the town of Santa Barbara de Pinto.

When police arrived the student was wearing just her underwear and so was the teacher.

The girl’s father was also with police and could not contain his rage at the man, with video showing him punching Mr Arias in the face.

It is believed there could be a number of victims at the student’s school, Nuestra Señora del Rosario High School., with local media reports earlier this month suggesting several teachers were being investigated for sexually abusing pupils.
