Clingy cat saved from using up all nine lives

 A cat has the luck of the Irish to thank after being saved from unforgiving concrete by a crowd of sympathetic onlookers after clinging to a building ledge. 

The cat was found hanging by its claws around four metres off the ground outside The Sky and Ground pub in Wexford, on Ireland's southeast coast, earlier this week.

Amid scenes reminiscent of Sylvester Stallone's action flick Cliffhanger, a crowd gathers beneath the cat, murmuring how best to save the cat from potentially using all of its nine lives in one go.

"It's got to come down at some stage," a man says, amid the cat's desperate meowing.

"I imagine it's so stressed out, come on, just drop!" another man says.

After attempting to pull itself up, the cat loses its strength but safely falls into the waiting blanket-holding arms of a man below.

It then scurries off, uninjured.

"It is not clear if this car was breaking into or out of this building when it slipped," YouTube uploader Storyful said.
