Too soon? Chris Rock's awkward opening monologue on Saturday Night Live
In an extreme case of 'way too soon' Saturday Night Live alum Chris Rock has been slammed on social media after joking about terror attacks during his opening monologue on the comedy show.
Rock, who appeared on SNL from 1990-1993, opened the show by touching on topics such as the Boston Marathon and the aftermath of the 9/11 World Trade Centre attack.
The jokes were met with awkward laughter and applause with viewers at home taking to twitter to offer their critique on Rock's "awkward" opener.
