Chinese village struck by giant landslide, 32 missing

Thirty two people are missing in China after a giant landslide triggered by heavy rainfall from Typhoon Megi crashed into a village in the eastern Zhejiang province.

A video shows a wave of debris thundering down a lush mountain towards the village of Sucun in Suichang county.

It wreaked devastation in the small community, destroying several buildings and sweeping them away.

The official Xinhua news agency reported that 32 people were missing from the village.

Chinese authorities have been braced for winds up to 120 kilometres per hour and heavy rainfall since Typhoon Megi  made landfall on Wednesday in the southern province of Fuijan.
