Chinese toddler dies after inflatable castle swept away by freak wind gust

A young girl has died after the inflatable castle she was playing in was picked up by a sudden gust of wind, causing her to be thrown to the ground.

The incident occurred in southern China outside a supermarket, the Xinhua News Agency reports.

Footage from CCTV cameras reportedly showed the castle was airborne for five seconds before it slammed to the ground.

After sustaining serious injuries in the fall, the three-year-old later died in hospital.

The castle was reportedly being operated without a licence.
