Chinese man who chucked a tanty after being denied seat upgrade kicked off United Airlines flight

A Chinese man has been booted from a United Airlines flight from Shanghai to New York, after repeatedly trying to sneak onto first-class then protesting by lying on the floor of the aisle.

Video of a man identified as “Mr Lu” lying on the aisle floor bawling while officers try to lift him, was uploaded to Yale Zhao’s YouTube page on December 6.

It has since been viewed 9,680 times.

Mr Lu, understood to be a university professor from the Chinese city of Chengdu, was forcibly removed from the flight after failing to identify himself to staff, drinking stolen champagne, blocking the aisle and lashing out at police officers.

It is alleged that Mr Lu had been drinking prior to take-off.

The video caption claims police were unable to restrain Mr Lu owing to a regulation that prevented them from handcuffing someone mentally unstable, and that they were forced to use cable ties provided by Mr Lu’s fellow passengers instead.
