Man wearing 'skin mask' tried to frighten ex-wife

A Chinese man was arrested last week for allegedly attempting to frighten his ex-wife while carrying pepper spray, a knife and wearing a silicone "skin mask".

The man, identified only as Cheng, was arrested last Tuesday morning while wearing the eerily life-like skin mask in Zhejiang province, south of Shanghai.

Cheng told police he only wanted to scare his ex-wife while she was staying in a hotel in the Xiaoshan district.

A security guard became suspicious when Cheng began asking him questions.

When Cheng tried to flee the hotel the security guard called the police.

Cheng was arrested wearing the uncanny human mask, complete with facial hair and a wig.

Police then discovered the large knife and pepper spray.

The human skin masks sell in China from anywhere from $90 to $3500.
