Chinese commuter distracted by phone falls down 30 steps
A woman consumed by her phone has hurtled then somersaulted down a train station staircase, before immediately getting up and checking the mobile for damage.
The disastrous pratfall captured on CCTV showed the woman losing her footing and tripping down the first few steps at a subway station in the Chinese city of Xi'an last Thursday.
Eventually she loses her balance entirely and rolls down the rest of the 30 steps.
It is only when she bangs her head at the bottom that she loses the grip on her phone.
But as a station employee rushes over to help, the woman immediately checks her phone to see if it is okay, even as she clutches the back of her head in pain.
The 35-year-old suffered cuts and scrapes but had no signs of concussion and was able to board her train home alone, Sina Shaanxi reports.
