The Chinese actress known as "Angelbaby" has had her face examined by doctors during the course of a high-profile defamation case after a Beijing beauty clinic ran an article claiming she has had plastic surgery.

The actress, real name Yeung Win, underwent a series of X-rays and tests, which included having doctors prod her face, in a bid to prove that her striking good looks are natural.

Angelbaby is seeking more than $108,000 in damages for the article, which was published on beauty clinic Ruili's website in 2012; the 26-year-old insists that her part-European heritage accounts for her appearance – and the medical examination backs her claims.

"Baby's entire head and facial bones do not have any signs of incisions," hospital chief Qi Zuoliang, told reporters.

Angelbaby's husband, Huang Xiaoming, who is also genetically blessed, spoke out about the allegations in a somewhat backhanded fashion back in 2014.

"Actually she sometimes looks quite ugly to me," he told an interviewer.

"I'm not an idiot, I definitely can tell she hasn't had plastic surgery, sometimes she doesn't put on makeup and she really looks like those ugly pictures of her."
