Child spotted driving car in peak hour

A stunned US motorist has recorded the moment he spotted a young boy driving a four-wheel drive in peak hour traffic.

The child can barely see over the steering wheel as he pulls up to a set of traffic lights in downtown Phoenix, Arizona, where the stunned cameraman waits to capture the scene.

"There's a kid driving that car right there," he is says, before turning his attention to the adult passenger of the car.

"Dude, you're gonna get someone (expletive) killed man ... it's rush hour, there's a lot of cars."

But the man, believed to be the child's father, only laughs at the complaint.

The video was uploaded to Reddit yesterday and has since gone viral.

It is understood the footage was captured near the corner of 16th and McDowell streets.

Phoenix police are yet to comment on the incident. It is not clear if any charges will be pressed.
