Car ploughs into children outside school in China

At least five people have reportedly been killed after a car struck a crowd of children outside a primary school in China.

The horrific incident took place in Huludao, Liaoning province today, RT reports.

CCTV footage released to social media shows a group of children crossing a busy road before a car appears to cross lanes to plough into them.

A number of the students can be seen skittled by the vehicle, with some dragged a few metres by the car.

At least five people are believed to have been killed in the incident with about 18 injured.

“There may be more than a dozen people injured,” an eyewitness told local Chinese media.

He described seeing blood on the ground and children’s shoes, RT reports.

The driver of the car has been detained by police.
