Canadian PM Justin Trudeau puts his run on hold to pose for prom photo

Justin Trudeau posed for a photo with some very excited high school graduates after they spotted the Canadian Prime Minister out for a casual run during their photo shoot late last week.

Mr Trudeau, a keen sportsman, was out for a jog along the Stanley Park Seawall in Vancouver on Friday when the prime minister’s photographer took a photo of him running past a group of dressed up local students, CBC News reports.

"We were just taking photos and hanging around talking, and then Trudeau, he just comes running," one student, Constantine Maragos, told CBC.

"At first, we were like, 'Why is the prime minister of Canada running the seawall? And then we started yelling for Trudeau to get in the photo."

Mr Trudeau agreed and the students gathered together for a group shot.

The Canadian prime minister also made an accidental appearance in a wedding photo in British Columbia last year.
