Canadian man triumphs over snowdrift in a single bound

A Canadian man has made a graceful if somewhat labour-intensive exit through his front door after opening it to find over a metre-and-a-half of snow blocking his path.

New Brunswick resident Daniel MacLeod was left the tiniest of gaps through which to spring himself outside after eastern Canada was blanketed in snow after days of storms.

In a video posted online, Mr MacLeod's wife, Tracy, can be heard encouraging her husband to "try it," while their young daughter gurgles with amusement.

"Oh my god," she says delightedly.

"Ready? One, two, three," Mr MacLeod says, standing on a chair and rocking back and forth in anticipation of the jump.

He then dives off the chair through the gap, disrupting only a tiny amount of snow which falls inside.
