Camera crew capture panic of London attack

A BBC news crew found themselves caught up in the panic of the London terrorist attack as it unfolded on Wednesday.

The journalist and cameramen from BBC Scotland were setting up their equipment on a lawn in the grounds of the Palace of Westminster as part of their daily parliamentary reporting when the incident, described by UK authorities as a terrorist attack, started.

They captured the dramatic events on video as fear gripped the area on Wednesday afternoon when an assailant drove a vehicle into pedestrians on the nearby Westminster Bridge.

He then crashed into railings outside the Houses of Parliament and fatally stabbed a police officer.

The video begins with one of the BBC crew declaring that "something is going on" and images of police reacting to the incident.

They start running with their equipment from the scene as one policeman shouts: "Get under cover you lot" as people flee the scene.

The video finishes with ambulances arriving and a helicopter flying over the palace.

Authorities report four people including the assailant died in the attack and 20 were left with serious injuries.
