Call girl claims Google death an accident

The call girl accused of murdering a Google executive with a lethal dose of heroin never intended to kill him and instead failed to call 911 due to a drug-fuelled panic, it has been claimed.

Alix Tichelman faces manslaughter, drug and prostitution charges for the death of wealthy tech executive Forrest Hayes in 2013, New York Daily News reports.

Prosecutors allege Ms Tichelman intentionally killed Mr Hayes after he invited her on board his luxury yacht for sex on November 22 last year.

However her defence lawyer Jerry Christensen claims Mr Hayes death was not a result of a "malicious or intentional act".

"It's a sad case which has deeply affected two families, but it was an accident," another defence lawyer, Larry Biggam, said.

Ms Tichelman visited Mr Hayes' yacht docked in a Santa Cruz, California harbour, according to police.

Her lawyer claimed she injected Mr Hayes with heroin with his consent but the drugs caused him to go into medical shock.

The shock forced Mr Hayes to clutch his chest before falling over.

The high-class call girl grabbed her things, and while still holding a glass of wine, quickly left, the media outlet said vision from surveillance video showed at the time.

"It's clear from the video that she took herself, injected herself, with heroin. And I think her judgment was less than clear," Mr Biggam said explaining why Ms Tichelman didn't call 911.

He said the 27-year-old was not attempting to clean up the crime scene when she packed up her belongings, with needles and evidence of her fingerprints left behind.

Ms Tichelman is being held on in the county jail on a $1.5 million.

The case will return to court on December 5.
