Brazilian man found buried alive in Rio de Janeiro

A Brazilian family has discovered a man buried alive in one of their relative’s graves after noticing blood stains on a family tomb.

The man was found on February 3 in Caju Cemetery in the city of Campos dos Goytacazes, Brazil after the tomb was seen to be slightly ajar with spots of blood on the seal.

After authorities were called in to remove the tomb’s cover they discovered an unconscious man inside.

The local fire department reported the man, who was not carrying any form of identification, had several assault marks to his body and showed signs of intoxication.

He is believed to be a local and aged around 33. He was taken to Hospital Ferreira Machado.

Local police confirmed they are carrying out an attempted murder investigation.
