Bieber billboard intensifies Olympic hockey rivalry

The question of whether Justin Bieber is going to be booted out of the United States and sent home to Canada will be settled by an Olympic hockey match.

This tongue-in-cheek billboard has appeared over a Chicago expressway as the US men's ice hockey team prepares to go head-to-head with Canada at a Winter Olympics semifinal.

The giant ad sandwiches Bieber between ice hockey stars Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews — who respectively play for the US and Canada — and proposes that whichever team loses the game must keep the bratty pop star.

While the billboard (sadly) has no legal standing, it's eased tensions over the highly competitive match.

"We don't use the sign other than to have fun," an unidentified executive from Command Transportation, the company which owns the electronic billboard, told DNAinfo Chicago.

Bieber's fate will be decided when the teams play early Saturday morning, Australia time.

If the women's ice hockey is any indication, Bieber will be allowed to remain in the US of A.

Its women's team was defeated by Canada 3-2 early Friday morning, Australia time.
