A school in Berlin is in lockdown with heavily armed police gathering outside.
Local police confirmed they are searching the Max Taut-Oberstufenzentrum school after an alarm was triggered just before 10am local time (6pm AEST).
No other information on the incident has been confirmed.

A photograph reportedly taken outside the scene shows multiple police in tactical gear and carrying rifles.
Reports online claim students are 'barricaded' inside a classroom.
