Beaver goes on rampage after finding fake Christmas trees in store

A beaver has trashed a Maryland store, seemingly distraught that it had only artificial Christmas trees in stock.

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office posted photos to Twitter documenting the mammal’s trail of destruction yesterday.

Police attempted to apprehend the suspect, who subsequently fled, only to be arrested by animal control a short while later.

The beaver remains in the care of an animal rehabilitator and will be released back into the wild on a good behaviour bond.

It is not exactly known what first drew the beaver to the store, five days after the end of Black Friday sales.

The beaver’s destructive visit comes just days after Washington shoppers left a Nike factory store in a state of complete disarray.
