Beauty pageant contestant's costume catches fire onstage

A contestant at a beauty pageant in the Cuisnahuat region of El Salvador was lucky to escape unhurt when her costume caught fire onstage.

The model, who was dressed as the Queen of the Harvest, was wearing a feather headdress, which caught fire when she walked past a man holding a flaming torch.

Pageant officials and members of the audience quickly leapt into action to extinguish the flames, which completely destroyed the headdress in a matter of seconds.

The model appeared unhurt, and the pageant eventually restarted.
