A Chinese man unhappy with his haircut has learnt the hard way that "the customer is always right" is not always observed in Beijing.

An angry hairdresser was caught on film stabbing a customer with a knife after the man allegedly said he did not like his haircut.

A man known only as “Bao” had reportedly been working at the hairdresser for four days when he got into an argyment with a disgruntled client.

Footage of the attack shows the stylist swinging a blade at the hapless customer as he reclines in a barber's chair.

The victim managed to get up and defend himself but suffered a punctured lung in the attack.

He was treated in hospital and a warrant has been issued for Bao's arrest.
