Bali Nine clemency appeal adjourned, again

The hearing of Myuran Sukumaran and Andrew Chan's appeal against the denial of their clemency has been adjourned again by a Jakarta court.

The State Administrative Court adjourned the case until Wednesday, when lawyers for the Australians will provide more information to the court.

The lawyers argue President Joko Widodo didn't properly assess their case - including their well-documented rehabilitation - before rejecting their application for clemency in a blanket decision covering all drug offenders.

The case was adjourned last Thursday when lawyers for the president had not completed the paperwork required to appear.

This time, four lawyers appeared for the state and presented a response to the Bali Nine pair's appeal.

Judge Ujang Abdullah set a schedule that aims to finish hearings on April 1 and deliver a decision soon afterwards.

Jakarta is indicating it would prefer to wait for the legal appeals of some of the 10 death row drug convicts it plans to execute to clear, so as to leave "no problems behind" afterwards.
