Sydney woman's Paris boyfriend wakes from coma after shooting

The French boyfriend of a Sydney woman has woken up from a coma after he was shot in the Charlie Hebdo massacre, but it is not known if he will ever walk again.

Maisie Dubosarsky boarded a flight to Paris last week to be at the bedside of Simon Fieschi, 31, who was put in an induced coma after a bullet punctured his lung and nicked his spine.

Her mother, Ursula Dubosarsky, told News Corp that Mr Fieschi remains in the intensive care unit and has not been allowed visitors apart from family and Maisie.

Ms Dubosarsky has been living in Paris with Mr Fieschi but had returned home to Sydney for Christmas and the New Year.

Mr Fieschi was the webmaster at Charlie Hebdo, overseeing the magazine's social media accounts and fielding its large volume of hate mail.
