Aussie fan ejected from World Cup stadium

The pain of the Socceroos' loss to Spain overnight was compounded for one fan after he was evicted from the Arena da Baixada in Curitiba by security.

Security intervened after the Australian man apparently had an altercation with a Brazilian fan.

Nine reporter Tom Steinfort witnessed the fan's eviction but said that, in general, Australian supporters had been very well behaved.

Alcohol is not usually served at Brazilian football matches, but tournament organiser FIFA's affiliation with Budweiser has forced a change in policy for the event.

As many as 15,000 Australian fans have travelled to Brazil for the tournament.
