Donald Trump has been labelled a "mad dog" in North Korean propaganda leaflets that have been scattered across Seoul.

Many people who found the flyers in the South Korean capital over the weekend posted them on social media, reports the Independent.

One leaflet read: "Death to old lunatic Trump" and was illustrated with a North Korean soldier brandishing a rifle, treading on what appears to be the US president's head with his tongue dangling out of his mouth.

Close to the soldier's head is the line: "Complete obliteration".

Another colour poster depicts Trump with the body of a dog being hacked by a blood-splattered axe. The accompanying text states: "Let's behead mad dog Trump for the future of peaceful and warless world and mankind".

NK News reported the propaganda material was distributed by balloons which flew high over Seoul just before they released the leaflets.

Prevailing winds and meteorological conditions have made this month "prime launching weather" for North Korea.

North Korean propaganda posters have previously been dropped by balloons sent over the heavily defended demilitarised zone.
