Clooneys continue wedding celebrations with $50,000 event in Amal’s home town

Amal and George Clooney are continuing their wedding celebrations with a lavish event at the bride's home town.

The power couple have travelled to Buckinghamshire in England for a private ceremony and celebration at the luxurious Danesfield House.

The five-star hotel will host about 90 close friends and family, largely those who were unable to make the original wedding in Venice last month.

All guests and staff have been asked to turn in their phones to keep the event private.

Rumours have abounded that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will be among the guests.

Buckinghamshire is where the new Mrs Clooney, an accomplished human rights lawyer, grew up and went to school before studying at Oxford.

Locals are showing their excitement at the celebrity event happening in their neighbourhood.

It is believed this celebration cost about $50,000, which will be paid by Mrs Clooney's parents.

The original Venice ceremony cost an estimated $16 million.
