Aggressive commuters storm women-only train before it even completely stops

Hundreds of Indian commuters have been filmed stampeding to board a women-only train before it even came to a complete stop in Mumbai.

Several women can be seen flinging themselves into the train's open doors as it rolls along the platform.

A surge from the back of the queue leads to a further wave of women being pushed onto the train in a terrifying tide of forceful commuters.

Packed like sardines, the women have no choice but to go with the flow of the foot traffic.

Some are even seen falling into the gap between the train's carriage and the platform.

Women-only trains were first introduced in 2009 to provide safety for female passengers.

They have been rolled out in Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta and Chennai, as well as some local suburban train lines.

Competition to secure a seat is so competitive during rush hour that numerous injuries and deaths have been reported.

Female police constables are now being deployed to train platforms in an attempt to force the women to queue up to board the trains.
