Kenyan pastor caught 'pants down' with friend's wife

A Kenyan pastor was caught on camera with his pants down in a hotel room with a woman by her husband in what appears to be an emerging trend to catch out adulterous clergymen.

With the camera rolling, Anglican pastor Charles Githinji scrambled to pull his clothes back on while an apparently cuckolded husband laid blows into his wife.

The preacher prays to the camera about his embarrassing predicament before posing with the adulterous wife for photos, an out-of-place smile beaming from her face.

The unnamed husband is said to be friends with the pastor but it was suspicions about his wife that led him to spring the pair, KTN Kenya reports.

Pastor Githinji alleged he was lured to hotel by the woman who said she needed an urgent prayer session because she was not feeling well.

The husband then left the King Castle Inn with the pastor despite having just caught him with his wife, according to KTN Kenya.

The Anglican Church is investigating the matter which was widely shared on Kenyan social media last week with the hashtag "PantsDown" trending across the country.

It was not the first video of its kind, with similar footage purporting to show misbehaving men of the cloth being widely shared around Kenya in recent months.

News organisations are said to be paying good money for the rights to the videos.

Ruth Nesoba, a BBC journalist working in Kenya, said: "Apparently what is emerging is a clique of freelance cameramen who are going round looking for these kind of stories".

Many comments on social media and YouTube question the authenticity of Pastor Githinji's video.

But the reporter said whether the preacher was set up by the couple or the alleged affair was genuine, the pastor was still caught in bed with a woman who was not his wife.
