A friendship between a fawn and a rabbit seemed like something that could only happen in a Disney movie, but now the fantasy has come to life.

The unlikely pair, now nicknamed Bambi and Thumper after the characters from the classic 1942 film, have been filmed playing together in the Rocky Mountains in the United States.

The video was shared on the YMCA of the Rockies Facebook page after being filmed by guide volunteers, Steve and Vicky Johnsen, at the Lula W. Dorsey museum in Estes Park, Colorado on August 6.

“No one had seen the deer and the rabbit playing around before and [Steve and Vicky] randomly captured it at the right moment,” YMCA of the Rockies spokeswoman Martha Sortland told the United States’ ABC News.

There have been no reports on whether the skunk Flower will also make an appearance.
