Incredible moment Aussie doctor Kate stuns nation with surprise TV record
What's better than walking away from Tipping Point Australia with the $20,000 Jackpot? Walking away with the $20,000 Jackpot and a new TV record!
Wollongong player Kate, a GP, had both in her sights after beating director Kit and retired uni lecturer Verghese to progress to the final rounds.
The 34-year-old mum-of-two built up a bank of $2,600 throughout the episode, but the Jackpot was needed for her big plans – a family trip to the United States for the 2026 FIFA World Cup as well opening her own health clinic.

Things were looking good from the early moments, as Kate's opening counters to chase down the Jackpot landed perfectly.
"Is there a prize for the most perfect start to a round?" she joked after her first three.
There was not, but suddenly, host Todd Woodbridge explained, a world record was in play.
Todd explained that there was more than just cash in play. Nine
"The world record for getting that jackpot over the Tipping Point is four counters. You are on track to match it and of course, that was in the British version," Todd said.
"The Australian record is seven," he continued – and both he and Kate wanted her to beat it!

Such a strong start ended up being a very lucky break, as Kate then incorrectly answered two category questions and lost out on six additional counters.
After finally securing three more, her fourth came agonizingly close to the world record but wasn't quite enough.
As she put in her fifth counter, Kate and Todd held their breath.

"Luck was definitely on my side today," she reacted.
