Episode 28 recap: Battle lines are drawn after ‘snooping’, as one team spot another breaking The Block’s biggest rule

Getting enough sleep during The Block is, well, impossible enough, without share house heating dramas contributing.
Everyone thinks Tayla turned the heating up last night, which “cooked” her rivals and made Courtney and Sev cranky.
Very cranky. Nine
On site, Sev goes to confront her … only for Tayla to flat-out deny it was her.
It was her, but Sev’s too busy to keep investigating so she walks free. This time.
House 4 has more pressing issues.
Courtney alleges Adam cannot keep his nose out of everyone else’s business, making rogue trips to other houses to snoop and steal.
House 4 erects a tent to block his view, and in case that isn’t clear enough:
Subtle! Nine
“It’s like a red flag to the bull,” Adam reckons.
In his voiceover, Scott Cam says there is just one house Adam hasn’t gone snooping in for style ideas – shady!
After last week’s air-fryer-book, pot-plant-under-the-desk debacle, Scotty’s sent Shelley Craft to whisk Tayla away for lunch and an urgent styling lesson.
She’s now more confident about styling her kitchen, but all the style in the world isn’t going to win them the week if they don’t have a ceiling.
After borrowing House 4’s plasterers on Monday, Rick and Tayla have been left without tradies to finish the job.
Eventually, Rick and his build team get stuck in themselves – until G-Mac orders them to pull it down because they haven’t had the necessary inspections.
Womp womp.
It may be the busiest week so far, but Chantel is heading to the Gold Coast for a quick trip to celebrate her son’s birthday.
Wyatt also leaves site, giving Lisa a window to snoop.
Adam would be so proud!
It’s walkarounds time and Scotty and Shell come with biiiig news.
Whoever wins Kitchen Week will also win a $30,000 bar of gold to go with their house on Auction Day.
Plus, Cosentino will give them $60,000 worth of Dekton tiles to use anywhere else in the house. It’s officially a $100,000 week.
Just in case Courtney and Sev aren’t feeling enough pressure, Scotty points out that past teams who have the E&S kitchen upgrade have easily taken out Kitchen Week.
“But this year? I don’t know,” Shelley says.
Thaaaaanks, Shell. Nine
In House 2, Shelley sends Wyatt into a spiral over door handles.
They’ve been using brass throughout the house, but the kitchen cabinetry has copper.
He has absolutely no idea why but after a panicked call to Chantel, he begs Kinsman for help. Late on a Friday arvo.
The watch-glance of a man who was moments from clocking off for the weekend. Nine
Courtney and Sev have gone above and beyond to stop their rivals’ snooping … but they’ve failed.
Friday evening means it’s time to paint, but as Rick gets stuck in at House 5 he notices something odd next door.
Tim from British Paints, who usually just gives the contestants advice on how to paint, has a roller in hand in the girls’ kitchen.
“That is cheating,” Tayla says.
Well. This is rather damning. Nine
The rest of the group are outside site having a drink while they wait for their first coats to dry, when Adam spots Tayla in House 4.
They then watch her go up the scaffolding of House 1 as well.
Adam, Jolene, Courtney and Sev are fuming.
“Rats do come out at night,” Courtney reacts.
On Sunday night, tensions come to a head before the most important Room Reveal yet.
There’s $100,000 and a huge Auction Day advantage on the line – who will take it out?
