Mel and John’s romantic journey

John's second time round in the experiment couldn't have been any different to his first time with Debbie. From the moment they met, Mel and John were a beautiful couple. Unable to wipe the smile off their faces from their first meeting, they continued in the same vein throughout the entire experiment.

The Wedding

As Mel walked down the aisle, full of nerves a beaming John awaited her. It took a few moments for her to realise who he was, but when she did her reaction was priceless. "What the f***," she exclaimed when the penny dropped.  

The Honeymoon 

The couple got closer on their honeymoon. Even the honeymoon box of questions couldn't dampen their mood. 

John gets romantic

After being told to amp up the romance, John stepped out of his comfort zone and took Mel on a romantic date. 

Things gets serious on the homestays

For the first time in their relationship things hit a rocky patch on their homestays. Tough questions were fired at them and there was one question John struggled to answer. 

John and Mel are separated 

When Mel got a phone call that her daughter had gone into labor she quickly kissed John goodbye and made a quick exit. The short separation helped them realise just how much they missed each other.

They meet the kids

John is amazed when he gets a surprise visit from his daughter Jessica, who flew in from England to meet her dad's new wife. She was quick to give her the big tick of approval. 

The issue of distance 

Mel wasn't too impressed when she found out that John had his reservation about moving to the Mornington Peninsula. Her concerns grew at the final dinner party. 

But despite their concerns about where their relationship is heading, both Mel and John both decided to stay together. Watch their moving vows in the video below.
